US agency mulls credit support to private business in Montenegro.

The U.S. Government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), is considering providing credit support to the private business in Montenegro, it became clear after the meeting between president Filip Vujanovic and OPIC management, national TV broadcaster RTCG informed. OPIC President and CEO Elizabeth Littlefield noted that the institution would extend credit resources to the country after a careful examination of the opportunities. Moreover, she pointed out that OPIC might support U.S. companies, which were interested in implementation of strategic infrastructure projects in Montenegro, especially in the fields of energy efficiency, tourism and transport. OPIC is the US government's finance institution. It helps U.S. businesses gain footholds in emerging markets and provides investors with financing, guarantees, political risk insurance, and support for private equity investment funds.
