UniCredit bank Serbia's pre-tax profit up by 33% y/y in H1.

UniCredit bank Serbia posted a pre-tax profit of RSD 1.9bn (EUR 18mn) in H1, up by 33% y/y. The lender's net interest income rose by 34% y/y to RSD 3bn. The bank's assets increased by 50% y/y to RSD 154bn as at end-H1. Unicredit'smarket share is estimated at 6.5%. Its customer base numbered about 174,000 clients as at end-June, which is an increase of 17% on the year. The biggest lender in the country in terms of assets is Serbian unit of Intesa Sanpaolo, Belgrade-based Banca Intesa.
