Ukraine suggests that Kazakhstan and Russia will join a project to construct a nuclear fuel fabrication plant, Ukraine's president Victor Yanukovych has said on Ukrainian TV. According to Yanukovych, Ukraine has been already negotiating with Kazakhstan and Russia. Ukraine is ready to become the founder of the partnership and join as the third party the construction of a plant that is taking place in Angarsk in Russia, in which Kazakhstan is a shareholder. Ukraine also plans the construction of a nuclear fuel plant on its territory and has invited Kazakhstan and Russia to join. It would be difficult for Ukraine to independently build such a plant but the project would be very profitable as it could provide nuclear fuel not only to Ukraine but to Europe as well, the president has stated. He announced that the construction of the nuclear fuel plant in Ukraine and the completion of the third and four power units of the Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant in Khmelnyitskyi region would be financed from the USD 2bn loan that Ukraine has received from Russia.
