Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev have signed an interstate agreement to extend the stationing of Russia 's Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine after 2017. The deal envisages the extension of the Black Sea Fleet's stay in Crimea for 25 years and the right to prolong this term for another 5 years after consultations of the parties. Viktor Yanukovych, commenting on the document signed, noted that Ukraine views the extension of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's stay in Sevastopol 'in the system of formation of collective security'. In its turn, the Russian side has guaranteed Ukraine a discount on the price of gas at USD 100 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas if the calculated price of gas exceeds USD 330, or a 30% discount from the amount of the contract if the price is below USD 330. A corresponding agreement was signed in the presence of the presidents by NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine CEO Yevhen Bakulin and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.
