Ukraine’s industrial production fell by 0.1% in 2017 compared to 2016, and in December it decreased by 0.5%, the State Statistics Service said on January 23. But adjusted for calendar effects industrial production increased by 0.4% in December 2017 from December 2016.
Month-on-month industrial production grew by 1% in December, but adjusted for calendar affects the increase was 1.9%.
Amongst the sectors, the rise in processing industry was 4.4% in December 2017, while the decline in mining and quarrying was 4.4%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning some 13.3%.
In general, for 2017 industrial production in Ukraine increased by 4%, while in mining industry the decline was 5.8%, and in the supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 6.5%.
As reported, industrial production grew by 2.4% in 2016 after a decline seen four years in a row: 13% in 2015, 10.1% in 2014, 4.3% in 2013 and 0.7% in 2012.
