Ukraine pays nearly USD 13bn for gas to Russia in Jan-Nov.

In Jan-Nov, Ukraine has imported 30.4bn m3 of Russian gas for USD 12.9bn, the State Statistics Service has announced. Ukraine also imported gas from Germany to the tune of 29.99mn m3 worth USD 11.896mn. According to the State Statistics Service, the average price for natural gas, imported in November by Naftogaz Ukrainy from Germany, made up USD 425/1,000 m3. A price for Russian natural gas in Q4, 2012, was USD 5 up - about USD 430/1,000 m3, and this is taking into consideration of a discount to the amount of USD 100/1,000 m3 according to the Kharkiv agreements. Currently, Ukraine develops two additional directions of reverse gas supplies from Europe. The matter concerns gas supplies by German company RWE from Slovakia, as well as import of fuel via Turkish LNG terminals with a transit via the territory of Bulgaria and Romania. At the same time, it is expected that supplies from Slovakia will start until the year end.
