Ukraine exports 17.3mn tonnes of grain crops since start of marketing year.

Since the beginning of this marketing year and as of Feb 21, Ukraine supplied 17.3mn tonnes of grain to foreign markets, announced APK-Inform, citing the press service of the Agricultural ministry. In particular, during the reporting period, 6.2mn tonnes of wheat were exported (including milling wheat - 5.2mn tonnes), 8.9mn tonnes of corn and almost 2mn tonnes of barley. Exports of oil-bearing cultures over the designated period of 2012/2013 marketing year made up 2.2mn tonnes. In February alone, 1.1mn tonnes of grain crops were supplied to foreign markets and 242,100 tonnes of oil-bearing crops. The Agricultural ministry expects 3%-5% of the 8.1mn hectares planted for the 2013 harvest to be replanted, stated ministrys official Oleksandr Demydov. According to him, the weather conditions are presently favorable to winter crops, 92% or 7.45mn hectares are in good or satisfactory condition, and only 8% or 0.64mn hectares are problematic.
