U.S. PolyOne to open ColorMatrix facility in South Africa.

By bne IntelliNews June 28, 2012
U.S.-based global provider of specialized polymer materials, services and solutions, PolyOne Corporation, said its subsidiary ColorMatrix will open in August 2012 a new facility in Cape Town, South Africa, to support customers throughout the continent. ColorMatrix, which produces and sells liquid color and additives for plastics, hopes the Cape Town facility to provide it with a strong customer-focused presence in the fast growing African continent. The South African facility will provide services including sales, technical support and an on-site color laboratory for rapid color development, ColorMatrix said in a statement. The operation will focus on targeting clients who manufacture products such as PET containers for the beverage and personal care markets, it added. While these operations will initially focus on ColorMatrix products and services, this affords us an excellent foothold to leverage other PolyOne businesses and services throughout the region in the future, PolyOne executive vice president and COO Robert M. Patterson said in a statement.
