The number of tourists visiting Bosnia increased by 4.6% on the year to 66,083 in October after rising by an annual 9.1% in September, the countrys statistics office said. On a monthly basis, tourist arrivals to Bosnia fell 12% in October after rising 18.7% in September, the office said in a statement. The number of domestic tourists rose by a yearly 2.9% to 26,884, while the number of foreign tourists climbed 5.8% on the year to 39,199 in October. A total of 594,548 tourists visited Bosnia in the first ten months of 2011, up 4.9% on the year. In October alone, tourist overnights rose by 6.1% on the year to 141,900 after jumping by an annual 9.2% in September. In October, domestic tourists spent 62,607 overnights, up 7% on the year, while foreign tourists spent 79,293 overnights, up by an annual 5.1%. Total overnights in January-October climbed 5.9% y/y to 1.32 million. Tourists from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Italy and Turkey accounted for the largest share of tourist arrivals and overnights in the first ten months of last year.
