Antoine Tournand, general manager of France-based oil company Total Group's 100% domestic oil retailing subsidiary Total Oil Turkey, said that the company targets to increase the number of its gas stations in Turkey to 500 by 2018 from the current 430. Total Oil Turkey also targets to increase its turnover by 50% in 2018 and to increase its domestic market share by 1-2 points from the current 6%, according to Tournand. Total Oil Turkey is the fifth largest oil distributing network in Turkey with its 386 employees and 430 gas stations, and it has also an 11.4% market share in domestic mineral oil market, daily Milliyet reported. Please note that Total was said in March to be one of the eleven companies those were in the data room in order to bid for oil exploration in the Iskenderun-Mersin area in the southern Turkey.
