Top envoy to Bosnia imposes interim budget to FBiH.

By bne IntelliNews January 27, 2011
The top international envoy to Bosnia, Valentin Inzko, imposed an interim budget of KM 320.7mn (EUR 164mn) for the countrys Muslim-Croat half amid political deadlock, Onasa news agency reported. The interim budget for Q1, proposed by the outgoing government of the Federation, could not be confirmed by the parliaments upper chamber as it has not been formed yet, almost four months after the October 3 general elections. Due to inter-ethnic wrangling neither Bosnia's central government has been formed. The international community's high representative to Bosnia, who oversees civilian aspects of the peace deal that ended the country's 1992-1995 war, enjoys wide powers from imposing laws to dismissing elected officials. We remind that Bosnias central government has recently approved provisional financing of KM 342.4mn for January to March 2011, after the state finance minister and the finance ministers of the two entities failed to reach an agreement on the state budget for 2011. By contrast, the parliament of Bosnias Serb Republic has already approved the entitys budget for 2011.
