Strong Ukraine to run for local and parliamentary elections by itself.

Strong Ukraine party will run for local and parliamentary elections by itself, party leader, newly appointed Vice PM for Economy Serhii Tihipko has announced. He emphasized that Strong Ukraine had no intention of going across to opposition. On Mar, the parliament approved staff of the government in which Strong Ukraine party leader Serhii Tihipko took the post of the Vice Prime Minister for Economy. In the first round of the presidential election Tihipko came third. In January, Tihipko said he was expecting his party to receive 16% or 17% of the votes at the elections of chairpersons of village, settlement and town council and at the local elections scheduled for May 30, 2010 . On Feb 16, parliament cancelled its decision on appointing ordinary local elections for May 30, setting no other day for these to be held.
