Slovene PM Borut Pahor asked Slovenians to support the arbitration agreement between Croatia and Slovenia. He stressed that the deal improved the relations between the countries, protected the interest of Slovenia and had positive effect on the stabilisation of the region. We note that at end-April Slovenia's main opposition party SDS called for rejection of the arbitration agreement on the border issue between Croatia and Slovenia on historic and geographic issues. Slovenia scheduled for June 6 a referendum on the enforcement of the law on the arbitration agreement with Croatia, which the parliament passed at its session on April 19, 2010. The latest opinion poll, carried out by Slovene daily Delo, showed that most of Slovenians support the arbitration agreement. |
