Slovakias electricity consumption is expected to reach 29.3TWh in 2011, compared to 28.7TWh consumed last year, SITA news agency reported citing an economy ministrys report. In 2012, the countrys power consumption will exceed 30TWh, thus reaching the pre-crisis level of 2008. In 2016, Slovakia will consume 32.6TWh of electricity. Nuclear power plants in the country generate 53% of the output, thermal power plants account for a share of 18% and hydro power plants make up 20%. Slovakia had an installed capacity of 7,780 MW in 2010, with nuke plants holding a 24% share. |
