Slovakia's state-run nuclear decommissioning company JAVYS has invited bids for dismantling of the technical equipment in the turbine hall in the V1 nuclear power plant in Bohunice, the EBRD that co-finances the plant's decommissioning said in a statement. The deadline for submitting bids is November 6, 2012. The tendered contracts include activities related to the dismantling of the plant's turbine hall, turbine plinth and lengthwise intermediate buildings i.e. dismantlement of equipment and hardware inside the building, optimisation of electrical scheme and related activities. The EBRD administers the Bohunice International Decommissioning Support Fund (BIDSF). The fund was established by the EU and several EU states for partial reimbursement of the expenses incurred by the Slovak Republic for the early closure of V1. The BIDSF resources are utilized via grant agreements between JAVYS and the EBRD for the implementation of individual projects. In July 2012, JAVYS and the EBRD signed four grant agreements for a total of EUR 45.2mn to finance the early shutdown of the V1 plant. |
