Serbian Nektar's acquisition of Slovenian peer Fructal gets antitrust approval.

Serbia's antitrust agency has approved the acquisition of Slovenian soft drinks maker Fructal by its Serbian peer Nektar, the agency announced. Nektar acquired 93.7% of Fructal from beverage group Pivovarna Lasko for EUR 35.3mn in the end of July. Fructal is Slovenia's top soft drinks producer. It has production plants in Slovenia and Macedonia and a distribution network in 18 countries around the world, from Canada and the US to Switzerland, Italy, Belarus and Russia. Nektar is one of Serbia's leading fruit and vegetable processors based in Backa Palanka in the province of Vojvodina in the northern part of the country.
