Serbia's IT industry generates exports worth USD 200mn in 2011.

Serbia's IT companies generated combined exports of some USD 200mn last year, news agency Beta quoted the CEO of Vojvodina ICT Cluster, Milan Solaja, as saying. Solaja was speaking at the presentation of the second issue of a special study on Serbia's ICT sector. He said the local companies execute 90% of their business on foreign markets. The report also quoted one of the authors of the study, Milovan Matijevic from Belgrade-based Mineco, as saying that around 1,500 IT firms in Serbia contribute 5% of the GDP although they account for just 1.5% of all companies in the country. According to Matijevic, the market value of Serbia's IT sector has started recovering following a year of stagnation and has reached EUR 479mn in 2012, up from EUR 404mn in 2010.
