Serbia's Inter-Kop to participate in metro stations construction in Kazakhstan.

Serbian engineering firm Inter-Kop said it was picked at an international tender as a contractor for implementing reinforced concrete works at two metro stations in Kazakhstan's Almaty, news agency Beta reported. Inter-Kop has won the tender together with a local partner, it said in a statement. The value of the contract is EUR 7mn. Works at the Sayran and Moskva stations are due to start in the second half of 2012 and to complete by end-2013. Inter-Kop added that via this project it will obtain valuable references, which will help it take part in the planned construction of the Belgrade metro line in the near future. Inter-Kop was founded in 1991 in the western town of Sabac as a goods transport company. It later on expanded its activities to become of the leading constructors of buildings, civil engineering and bridges. The company is also active in stone aggregates exploitation. It employs 2,200 and apart from the Serbian targets the markets of the Balkan countries, Asia and Africa, where it already participated in large construction projects.
