Serbia's GDP up 2.2% y/y in Q2 - flash estimate.

Real GDP growth in the second quarter of 2011 stood at 2.2% y/y, according to a flash estimate of Serbia's statistics office. The final GDP data for the second quarter will be released on September 30. Serbia's GDP rose by 3.4% y/y in real terms in the first quarter of 2011. The transport sector registered the biggest growth of 9.8%, followed by the electricity, gas and water supply sector with 7.5%, manufacturing with 6.2% and finance and insurance with 6.2%. The construction sector marked the steepest decline, dropping by 2.9%. Seasonally adjusted data show that GDP growth in Jan-Mar 2011 was 1.5% compared to the last quarter of 2010.
