The local unit of British retail chain Tesco Stores of the same name plans to raise employee wages by an average 3.5% as of July. Tesco Stores CR, which employ some 13,000 in the country, decided to increase wages as the current collective agreement expires at end-June and negotiations with trade unions are threatened by a failure. The unions want wages to increase by some 2-4%. Negotiations are to continue today, Jun 16. Tesco Stores CR operates 136 supermarkets, hypermarkets and department stores, 18 gas stations and six commercial centres in the country. In January it announced plans to open 30 new facilities, which will result in the creation of some 1,000 new jobs in the country. |
