By bne IntelliNews July 19, 2011
Kazakh PM Karim Masimov declared that Kazakhstan reached the final stage for the accession process into the World Trade Organization. He also explained that the countries of the Customs Union (apart form Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus) agree the principles that the union should meet WTO standards. He also added that it was decided that if there are no contradictions between the WTO and the Customs Union standards, the WTO standards would be considered dominant. Masimov also stated that the Customs Union would benefit Kazakh business. He explained that to carry out full-scale industrialization, Kazakhstan must attract foreign investments into non-oil and gas industries and thus it needs a big market and new buyers. He noted that Russia and Belarus can be Kazakhstans clients and together, the countries of the Customs Union comprise a good market.
