Montenegro's tourism sector continues to reports strong results. Other than the rise in tourist arrivals in hotels and other recreational facilities (the total number of tourists increased by 8.7% y/y in 2011), the sea-side country registers growth in nautical tourism as well. In 2011, totally 187,171 passengers passed Montenegro on cruises, up by 31.6% compared to 2010, statistics office data showed. Most of the vessels came from Malta (34.8%) and the Bahamas (24.1%). Additionally, 1,459 yachts (up 10.8) arrived to Montenegro last year, proving popular the yacht marinas in the country. |
