Montenegros GDP per capita reaches 41% of EU average in 2009.

The GDP per capita in Montenegro, expressed in purchasing power standards (PPS), reached 41% of the average for the 27 EU member countries in 2009, down from 43% a year earlier, EU's statistical office Eurostat said. In regional comparison, Montenegros GDP per capita is below that of Turkey, which is at 46% of the EU-27 average, but is ahead of Serbia (37%), Macedonia (36%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (31%) and Albania (27%). Croatia is a regional leader with 65% of the EU-27 average in 2009.
