Montenegro, Ukraine likely to hold new round of negotiations on WTO accession.

Negotiation teams of Montenegro and Ukraine are likely to conduct a new round of talks on a bilateral trade agreement, which will enable Montenegro's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the Mina news agency reported, quoting Ukrainian Ambassador to Podgorica Oksana Slusarenko. The official informed that the Ukrainian ministry of economy requested the talks to continue in Montenegro at a conference of the Central European Initiative, which will take place at the end of the month. The country was expected to join WTO last February, but Ukraine's refusal to sign a bilateral agreement blocked the accession. The main disputable issues at that time were the custom duties for agricultural and industrial goods, which Montenegro refused to decrease to the levels requested by Ukraine, as this would endanger local producers. The two sides have already reached compromise solutions for the most of the open issues.
