Montenegro tourist arrivals rise 10.2% y/y in Jan-Nov 2011.

The number of foreign tourists visiting Montenegro, representing some 87.6% of all tourists in the country, increased by 10.3% y/y to 1,189,355 in January-November, the statistics office reported. In November alone, foreign tourist arrivals inched down (by 0.1% y/y) for the first time in the last five months after rising by 25.4% y/y to in October. The number of domestic tourists in the first eleven months sustained the negative trend, declining by 1.5% y/y to 167,730. The total number of tourists in the country reached 1,357,085 as of end-November, up by 10.2% y/y. The number of foreign tourist overnight stays added 12% y/y to 7,781,463 in the period from January to November and 9.6% y/y in November alone. The overnight stays of domestic tourists dropped by 2.5% y/y in Jan-Nov and by 1.9% in November.
