Montenegro targets US investors at first business summit.

Montenegro is aiming to improve economic cooperation and attract US investors, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic announced at the first US and Western Balkans economic summit held in Baltimore, radio and TV broadcaster RTCG reported. The President said that increasing competitiveness and improving the business climate are key requirements for achieving this goal. The country's future economic policy will be targeted at stronger regional development and facilitating business registration and start-up procedures. Vujanovic also added that Montenegro has made significant progress in harmonizing its legislation with that of the EU and has the lowest corporate tax in the region at 9%. He assured potential investors that investments in the country are safe and profitable. The economic summit is organized by the US-Balkans Alliance and the State of Maryland and focuses on cooperation in the fields of trade, tourism, energy and foreign investment.
