Montenegro's EU harmonised inflation index drops to 3.5% y/y in Nov 2011.

The EU harmonised inflation index (HICP) slowed to 3.5% y/y in November, down from 3.9% y/y in the previous month, statistical office (MONSTAT) data showed. Prices of alcohol and tobacco increased the most - by 14.7% y/y, followed by health services, transport and food and beverages prices, which rose by 10.5% y/y, 7.4% y/y and 3.9% y/y, respectively. Prices of furnishing and household equipment on the other hand moved in the opposite direction - down by 0.3% y/y. Education also cost less as compared to a year ago - by 0.7% y/y. On a monthly basis prices went down by 0.3%. The HICP has dropped to 3% since the beginning of the year, down from 3.3% recorded a month ago. The highest was the increase in the administrative inflation (up 7% since the start of the year), followed by energy (4.1%) and products (3.4%).
