Montenegro kept its 69th place in the 2010 corruption perception survey of Transparency International (TI). The ranking includes 178 countries around the world. Countries are ranked from 0 to 10 points, where 10 represents lack of corruption practices, and 0 stands for extremely high level of corruption. Montenegro, ranked along with Italy, Georgia, Brazil, Bosnia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece, managed to keep its place from 2009 although it scored 3.7 points in 2010, compared to 3.9 points a year ago. In terms of regional comparison, the country is behind Turkey (56th, score 4.4), Croatia and Macedonia (both 62nd, 4.1), but performs better than Serbia (78th, 3.5), Albania (87th, 3.3) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (91st, 3.2). |
