Montenegro awards 30-year concession for 3 hydropower plants to local firms.

Local consortium Elektrotehna-Radius won a 30-year concession agreement with the government for the construction of three small hydropower plants for EUR 13.3mn. The consortium will invest EUR 5.1mn in building two units with a combined installed capacity of 2.4MW and output capacity of 9 GWh annually and will be located by the Murinska river. The third plant, which will cost EUR 8.2mn, will have an installed capacity of 8.3MW and an output capacity of EUR 33 GWh annually, while its location will be at the Trepacka river. The concession fees will equal 4% of the value of the projected annual output.
