Libyas Buraq Air eyes Bosnias B&H Airlines report.

By bne IntelliNews October 5, 2012
Libyas Buraq Air could most likely become the new strategic partner and co-owner of Bosnias B&H Airlines after Turkish Airlines exited its joint venture firm with the Bosnian air carrier earlier this year, daily Oslobodjenje reported, quoting unofficial information. The daily said it has approached the Federations transport minister Enver Bijedic with this information but he declined to comment it, saying negations with a company interested in entering into a strategic partnership with B&H Airlines will start in the coming days. The airliner is majority-owned by the government of Bosnias Federation. Bijedic said the Federation will offer a 49% of the company to a foreign partner and keep the controlling stake. In June Turkish Airlines decided to transfer back to the government of Bosnias Federation its 49% stake in BH Airlines citing as a reason the lack of government support. According to the Federation, however, Turkish Airlines had failed to fulfil its pledged obligations towards the Bosnian air carrier four years after buying the stake in it in December 2008. Buraq Air was established in 2000 as the first privately-owned airline operator in Libya.
