Kazakhstan will be able to buy new planes at the price of manufacturer, Kazakh Transportation and Communication Ministry has informed. Price lowering resulted from ratification of the Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Aircraft Protocol by Kazakhstan in July. The convention allows airlines to purchase new aircrafts directly from manufacturers. Moreover, the ministry explained that in November Kazakhstan had officially entered the Cape Town list of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development which includes the countries which are allowed to reduce the price of export-credit financing for the acquisition of modern aircraft. Meanwhile, Kazakh PM Serik Akhmetov approved a road map seeking removal of Kazakh airlines from EU blacklist. According to the plan Kazakhstan will increase the number of civil aviation inspectors and raise their wages, harmonize its aviation law with the ICAO requirements and introduce a new management system in the civil aviation industry. The EU put all 59 Kazakh air carriers except Air Astana on its blacklist of unsafe airlines. Currently, 37 remain on the blacklist. |
