Joakim Riker to be appointed new head of EC delegation to Bosnia.

Joakim Riker, the Germany's ambassador to Sweden and former deputy High Representative to Bosnia, will be appointed new head of the European Delegation to Bosnia, Nezavisne Novine daily informed. The position of the head of the European Commission delegation to Bosnia is vacant since the middle of 2010, when the mandate of Dimitris Kurkulas expired. Riker is considered to know well the specific situation on the Western Balkans as he served as deputy High Representative to Bosnia in the period from May 2001 to July 2002 and was also the head of the UNMIK in Kosovo in 2006 to 2008.
