A total of EUR 110mn will be invested in the construction of 30 wind turbines on the territory of Krnovu in Montenegro, portalanalitika.me reported quoting information from the economy ministry. The investor is a consortium comprising Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Austrian Ivicom Consulting. The wind park will have installed capacity of 50MW with an option for extension to 72MW. The construction of the wind park will start not later than in the spring of 2012. As recalled, the government and the Austrian-Japanese consortium signed in Aug 2010 a contract for the construction of the wind power park. The consortium acquired a long-term lease on state-owned land in Krnovo for the construction of power generating facilities. Earlier this year the government called a tender for the construction of four power plants on the Moraca River with a projected electricity production of 721GWh a year. The project is expected to cost around EUR 530mn. |
