Italian dairy Grifo Latte mulls investments in Montenegro.

By bne IntelliNews July 12, 2010
Italian agricultural company Grifo Latte is considering investments in Montenegro, Podgorica mayor Miomir Mugosa said following his visit to the Italian town of Perugia. A delegation from the Italian company will soon visit the country and hold talks for the construction of a dairy in Podgorica. The Italians might take part in the tender for troubled dairy Mljekara. We note that the insolvency manager of dairy Mljekara called last week a new tender for the sale of the troubled producer. This will be the fifth attempt after the failure of the previous tenders called since the start of the year. The floor price set for the property was reduced to EUR 4.16mn from the initially asked EUR 7.6mn. It includes production equipment, business premises, cars and over 6,000 sqm of land. Interested parties should file their bids by July 28. The dairy ceased production activities last April. It had accumulated significant debt towards its employees and the state.
