IDC: Bosnian IT market flat last year.

Market research firm IDC said that the IT market in Bosnia stagnated at USD 167mn in 2010, but rose by 5% when measured in local currency (which is pegged to the euro). IT spending per capita in the country was USD 36 last year, which corresponds to 4.3% of the EU average. IDC commented that in terms of IT spending per capita, Bosnia is ahead only of Albania in the Adriatic region. IDC expect Bosnias IT market to grow at a compound annual rate (CAGR) of 11.8% in the period 2011-2015, thus reaching USD 291.5mn in 2015. In 2010, total hardware sales in the country dropped by 2.1%, while packaged software rose by 0.6% and IT services grew by 5.6%. PC shipments (desktops and notebooks) increased by 5.5% to 49,000 last year. Desktop shipments surged by 9.7%, while notebook shipments decreased by 1.7%.
