Hungary introduces sanctions for GMO seeds.

Hungary's government decided to impose fines from HUF 50,000 to HUF 2bn against distribution or use of genetically modified seeds, MTI news agency reported, quoting government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs. Refunds will be provided to farmers, who have suffered damages because of using GMO seeds, Kovacs added. According to earlier reported, there are over 5,000 hectares of arable land, sown with GMO seeds.
