German Bosch Group to build EUR 70mn plant in Serbia.

German technology supplier Bosch Group plans to build a EUR 70mn plant in the northern Serbian town of Pecinci, the Serbian government said in a statement. Representatives of Bosch Group and the government signed a framework agreement on the project on December 1. The plant will cover an area of 22,000 square metres and manufacture car wiper systems. Its construction is due to start in the beginning of 2012 and finish in 2019. The factory is expected to launch production in the beginning of 2013, employing 60 workers. The employee numbers is to rise to 620 at a later stage. The new plant will be called Robert Bosch Belgrade. The Bosch Group comprises Robert Bosch GmbH and its more than 350 subsidiaries and regional companies in over 60 countries. Bosch is represented in some 150 countries together with its sales and service partners. Its areas of automotive and industrial technology, consumer goods, and building technology generated sales of EUR 47.3mn in 2010.
