Eurostat: Poland's food and non-alcoholic beverages prices lowest in EU27.

Prices of food and non- alcoholic beverages in Poland amounted to 64% of the European Union's average in 2009, the EU stats office Eurostat has reported. Thus, Poland's prices were the lowest in the EU27, followed by Bulgaria (68%) and Lithuania (74%), while the highest prices of these goods were in Denmark (139%) and Ireland (129%). The lowest prices of alcoholic beverages were reported in Romania (70% of the average), with Poland taking the 6th spot (89%). tom
