EU scolds Slovakia for not joining the Greek loan.

By bne IntelliNews August 13, 2010
EU Economic and Financial Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn said that yesterday's decision of Slovakla's parliament not to provide loan to Greece under the European Financial Stability Facility was a breach of the commitment undertaken by Slovakia but it will not have a negative impact on the Greek loan and rescue plan. Analysts commented that the decision will probably have a long-term negative impact on Slovakia by increasing the political mistrust towards the country. It is expected that the EU finance ministers will discuss the actions of Slovakia at their next meeting in September. The Slovak parliament rejected participation in the loan facility despite the preliminary agreement, signed by the previous finance minister.
