The leaders of several ethnic Bosniak and Croat parties have reportedly agreed on an informal election and postelection cooperation. Nezavisne Novine daily reported that the heads of SDP (Zlatko Lagumdzija), SDA (Sulejman Tihic), HDZ 1990 (Bozo Ljubic), and HSP (Zlatko Jurisic) signed the accord, which is aimed at obtaining the maximum possible number of seats in the Federation parliament and government, as well as in the municipal councils and cantonal governments throughout FBiH. The informal coalition, named New Alliance for BiH, will coordinate its pre-election activities and campaign against the main rivals SBiH, SBB and HDZ BiH through several media, which are close to the parties, namely Dnevni list and Oslobodzenje dailies and TV broadcasters FTV and BHT. The general elections are scheduled for Oct 3. Subject to the vote will be the members of the state tripartite presidency, the RS president and vice-president, the members of the state and entity parliaments, as well as the cantonal assemblies in FBiH.
