Equity market capitalisation of Macedonian bourse down by 2.2% m/m in February.

The market capitalisation of equities traded on the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) dropped by 2.15% m/m to MKD 132.62bn (EUR 2.16bn) at end-February, after rising by 10.57% m/m at end-January, according to data published by MSE. The market capitalisation of debt instruments increased by 0.12% m/m to MKD 12.64bn at the end of last month. The equity indices MBI10 and MBID both dropped in February, by 2.05% and 6.17% respectively. The MSE's turnover soared 3.2 times m/m to MKD 1.44bn in February. However, this was largely due to the MKD 927.5mn public offering of Komercijalna Banka, while there were not public offerings in January. In addition, the block transactions turnover jumped 14.3 times m/m to MKD 306.2mn last month. On the other hand, the turnover of the classical trading dropped by 51.02% m/m to MKD 207.4mn in February. In February, foreign investors participated in 28.98% of the total turnover as buyers and in 32.99% of the total turnover as sellers.
