Embraco Slovakia opens EUR 13.5mn assembly line.

Refrigerator compressors producer Embraco Slovakia launched a EUR 13.5mn assembly line at its plant in Spisska Nova Ves, eastern Slovakia, TASR news agency reported. The new line, whose construction started in May 2010, will create 300 jobs. The company received almost EUR 6.9mn in state support for the project. The subsidy for new job creation was EUR 1.5mn, the tax relief is estimated at around EUR 2.3mn in 2012-2014 and EUR 2.7mn were given for assets acquisition. Embraco Slovakia is the local unit of Brasilian Embraco, a leading producer of compressors for refrigeration. Embraco, a subsidiary of Whirlpool, employs 1,800 people at its Slovak plant. The company directly employs about 9,600 people in six countries - Brazil, China, Italy, Slovakia, USA and Mexico, according to information on its website.
