EE: Social spending of 13.7% of GDP highest in Baltics.

Social spending to GDP ratio in Estonia amounts to 13.7%, being the highest in the Baltic States, according to FinMin data. Respective indicators in Lithuania and Latvia stood at 12.4% and 10.1%. In Estonia, social protection spending amounts to EUR 2.4bn, which make 33.2% of state budget spending and 13.7% of GDP. In Lithuania, social protection spending amounts to EUR 4.2bn or 40% of total budget spending. In Latvia, the same figure is EUR 2.32bn or 30% of spending.
