EE: Joint venture for Rail Baltica to be created.

Estonian PM Andrus Ansip indicated that a joint venture between Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will be set up in order to implement the Rail Baltica project. Rail Baltica is an European gauge railway from Warsaw to Helsinki project. The new joint venture is to be based in Latvia, Ansip added. The European Commission considers Rail Baltica project to be of high priority and to be included in the 2014-2020 EU financing plan. Lithuanian PM Andrius Kubilius added that the PMs of the Baltic States have agreed in principle on the financing of the project in the meeting in Tallinn. The total cost of the railway in Lithuania is estimated at EUR 550mn, while Latvian and Estonian costs are yet to be estimated.
