EE: Estonian banks earn EUR 536.1mn in Jan-Aug.

Estonian banks aggregated net profit amounted to EUR 536.1mn in Jan-Aug, Bank of Estonia indicates. In Jan-Aug 2010, total net profit amounted to EUR 22.4mn. In August alone net profit stood at EUR 27mn. Loans and leasing portfolio declined by EUR 26mn m/m in August and stood at EUR 14.6bn as of end of the month, which indicates 5.7% y/y decline. New loans and leasing issued to corporate clients amounted to EUR 576mn in Aug, which included EUR 293mn in overdraft. Total of EUR 44mn of housing loans have been issued, 25% y/y increase. In August share of the loans overdue for more than 60 days amounted to 6.3% of the total loans portfolio.
