The Bank of Estonia's official assets increased by 14.4% m/m in May and amounted to EEK 45.3bn (EUR 2.9bn) as of end-May, the central bank has announced. Gold and net foreign reserves stood at EEK 42bn, recording increase of 14.8% m/m in May. Unencumbered reserves stood at EEK 5.4bn, up by 1.6% m/m in May. Demand for base money increased by 16.7% m/m in May and amounted to EEK 36.4bn, of which EEK 9.3bn was cash, and EEK 27.1bn was account money. The sum of the bank's capital, reserves, and undistributed profit stood at EEK 5.6bn, unchanged in m/m terms.
