EBRD approves EUR 125mn equity investment in windfarms in Hungary, Poland.

The EBRD signed the contract for EUR 125mn equity investment in the windfarm project of Spanish Iberdrola Renovables in Hungary and Poland, the EBRD announced. EBRD board already approved the investment in January. The investment would translate into acquiring a 25% stake in the windfarms in both countries and would be the first project of the bank in the energy sector in Hungary . Iberdrola Renovables operates a 50MW windfarm in the north-western part of the country as of 2009 and has commissioned the construction of two new facilities by the end of this year.
