Czech TV broadcaster FTV Prima more than doubled its profit last year thanks to strong revenue growth, E15 daily reported citing the company's unaudited results. FTV Prima, which runs Prima family, Prima Cool and Prima love channels, posted a profit of CZK 250mn (EUR 9.7mn) in 2011, up from CZK 130mn in 2010 as revenue surged 20% y/y to CZK 2.4bn. The company is 50% owned by Swedish Modern Times Group (MTG) and the remaining 50% are controlled by entrepreneur Ivan Zach. The three channels of FTV Prima held together a share of 22.2% of the TV audience in 2011, up from 19.2% in 2010. Prima's main competitor TV Nova, owned by Central European Media Enterprises (CME), had a share of 34%, down from 36.1% in 2010. |
