Czech Telecommunications Office reports 69% Internet penetration  in December.

A total of 69% of the population in the country uses Internet, according to a survey by the Czech Telecommunications Office (CTU) from December 2009. Some 47% said they value most the access to information, quick searches, price comparisons and maps, and for 43% communication with friends or colleagues was most valued. Those who do not use Internet point to lack of access (40%) and the lack of interest and need (34%) as main reasons. The country ranked 20th among the EU Member States in terms of share of households with Internet access in 2009, Eurostat data showed. Some 54% of households had Internet access in 2009, up from 46% in 2008, but significantly below the average 65% of the EU-27.
