The Czech central banks monetary base edged down by 0.7% m/m to CZK 458.3bn (EUR 18.01bn) as of end-January 2012, the central bank said. In annual terms, the monetary base increased by 3.7%. The monetary base coverage with foreign reserves remains high at 169% as of end-January, which suggests a lack of major short-term liquidity problems in the financial system. The monetary base comprises cash in circulation and vaults as well as reserves of commercial banks kept at central bank accounts. |
